Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your Governor of Laurel Moose Lodge for 2011 - 2012. I look forward to moving the Laurel Moose Family Center forward in our new location.
I am looking forward to working with the Women Chapter 1327 who I believe is vital to the survival and growth of the lodge as a whole. The women are currently focusing in Lodge and Chapter activities as well as community support service activities. Their continued success and support are a blessing to us all and is a great comfort in knowing that we are all here to support our lodge and make it a success.
Though we are in our new lodge building, there is still a lot of work to be done. We will be performing ongoing setup and renovations to the building making it a home that we are all comfortable with. We are planning current and future actives that hopefully will include activities for all our members.
Please visit our website at www.loom1504.org for updates concerning the Lodge and upcoming activities.
I look forward to seeing you at the lodge for activities and socializing.
Fraternally,
Michael Shawver
Governor 2011 - 2012
MESSAGE FROM THE GOVERNOR TO ALL MEMBERS OF 1504 AND 1327
I want to welcome everyone to the new lodge. We are working very hard to make this building our home. Please have patience while we get used to the new lodge and discuss what should go where. We would like to get things right the first time.
The sign-in book is currently kept behind the bar. Please ask the bartender for the book, show her your paid-up membership card and give her your quarter.
This building has been used and accessed for many years by a variety of people – including the elderly and the handicapped. However, a stairlift has been installed to make access to the upstairs meeting room easier and more convenient. The kitchen is open at all times with a very nice short-order menu. The bartender will be happy to take your order and prepare it. If you don’t see a menu at your table, please ask the bartender. In order to prepare the traditional Friday night dinners, some work must be done in the kitchen so that the equipment we brought with us to cook these dinners can be cleaned, repaired and installed. This takes time and coordination.
Most of the Board members must first work their full-time jobs before they can donate their time to setting up the kitchen, etc. Anyone with time to donate, please notify anyone on the Board of your willingness to help.
March, 2011
Fraternally yours,
B. A. (Alfonso) Fladung
